No Memory

No memory of people
But of places and things
And an empty world
Where there is no one but me
And a peculiar empty feeling
That comes with being the outcast
The the ignored
The observer
Oh, certainly there must have been people around
Just because I don't remember them
Doesn't mean they weren't there
Going about their perfect little lives
While I sat observing
Me
My shadow
And that peculiar feeling
The one that told me I would never be like them
That they would never understand me
And I grew up like that
And I'm like that now
Observing
Left out
Let alone
But now there's a differance
That peculiar feeling has gone
It packed it's bags the day it all came clear to me
I am a lesbian
A lonely lesbian
But a lesbian nontheless
